Vintage French Provincial Double-Handed Jug

This vintage terracotta stoneware pottery has a matte (unglazed) finish, with a light glaze towards the starting at the handles upwards to the mouth of the vessel.

These stoneware vessels were used in the early 19th century to store oil, wine or water and was thrown on a potter's wheel, making it unique with distinctive character through its slight imperfections.
